Mellerio as know as Meller is a jewelry house located in the Place Vendôme, in Paris. It has crossed the centuries with great discretion while being the oldest French jewelry house. Mellerio creates authentic, unique and timeless jewelry for all styles.

 

400 years of craftsmanship

 

The Mellerio family has reigned over the secret address of the oldest jewelry house since 1613. It was the first art house to set up shop in the Place de Vendôme and remains the oldest jewelry house in the world. The Mellerio family has crossed four centuries of French history with 14 generations that have successively known success and honor. From its creation until today, the house transmits the family values in the conception of the jewels. Thus, creativity, honesty and discretion remain at the heart of one of the last independent jewelry houses in France.

The Mellerio house has a unique heritage where each generation has been able to highlight its creative know-how. Both in design and manufacturing, the brand is at the forefront of fashion with an extreme quality of its creations. It is renowned for the precious objects it creates, from fine jewelry to high jewelry. The Mellerio workshop is now located above the historic boutique in the second arrondissement, rue de la Paix in Paris.

 

Precious and inventive jewelry

 

The Mellerio family obtained the right to work with gold and set precious stones in 1777 by a decree of the Queen. Since then, exceptional gems from all over the world have passed through their hands. Offering jewels from the best brokers, the jeweler also sells to its most prestigious customers gems that belonged to the French crown. It also markets several stones from Golconde, which represented the epicenter of diamond in India in the 17th century.

Natural diamonds are the main expression of the majority of Mellerio's contemporary creations. Among its achievements, the company has to its account the "cut", the brand's own diamond cut imagined in 2005. The Mellerio cut features 57 facets, an oval style inscribed in an ellipse, an asymmetrically shaped central emerald, an ovoid and a peacock feather brooch from Empress Eugenie. This Mellerio cut is a customer favorite. Indeed, it exudes an exclusivity and an incomparable grace, while conferring a certain originality to the solitaires of engagement rings.
