Baume & Mercier: Where Quality Meets Innovation

Baume & Mercier is a Swiss luxury watchmaking house founded in 1830. In 2030, this prestigious brand will therefore celebrate 200 years of existence! The collections from the Swiss watchmaking workshops of Baume & Mercier have always borne witness to the passion and impeccable craftsmanship of the artisans behind them.

The House of Baume & Mercier

In 1830, two of the eldest sons of the Baume family set out to make high-end watches, following the so-called établissage model. This was an economical production method that was very widespread at the time, particularly in watchmaking. By dividing the stages of making a quartz or automatic watch among several small units and bringing them together at the final stage, the Baume brothers were able to offer watches of rare quality, already equipped with the latest technological advances. Buoyed by their success, the two watchmakers quickly won the interest of Europe.

Nearly 200 years later, the motto of the House of Baume & Mercier remains the same: "Let nothing slip through, make only watches of the highest quality." The various collections designed by the watchmaker are proof of this.

The Riviera Collection

This range of Baume & Mercier watches is instantly recognisable thanks to its distinctive dial. The Riviera collection's bezel has 12 sides, a perfect expression of the Swiss watchmaker's aesthetic expertise and its ability to work with materials. Launched in 1973, the Riviera was brought back up to date by Baume & Mercier just a year ago. On the wrist, you will find a highly elegant steel wristwatch inspired by the French Riviera, the famous Côte d'Azur. A case in point is the Riviera 10677 chronograph, whose deep blue lacquered dial is set with 96 diamonds representing the Mediterranean coastline. Sophisticated without being overdone, the timepieces of the Riviera collection can be worn on any occasion.

The Classima Collection

If you are looking for a perfectly balanced watch, the Baume & Mercier Classima collection is the place to turn. The Classima M0A10217 automatic watch features a 40 mm steel case topped with rose gold. Powered by an automatic movement, it also includes a date display. It is a safe bet, with a relaxed charm. Launched in 2004, this model quickly became a classic of the Swiss brand, which takes pleasure in giving it a new look year after year. In 2022, for example, Baume & Mercier unveiled four new references for both men and women.

The Clifton Collection

This range of Baume & Mercier watches is undoubtedly the most emblematic of all. It offers a choice between automatic and manual-winding pieces, all combining innovative and traditional features. As a symbol of the centuries-old expertise of the Geneva-based watchmaker, the Clifton comes this year in several new versions, fitted with the Baumatic™ BM12-1975A mechanical calibre. For anyone seeking a timepiece that combines a contemporary feel, classicism, performance and aesthetics, the Clifton 10654, among others, is an ideal choice. It also features a moon-phase dial. Infallible precision and great presence: this is the promise of this unique watch.

The Hampton Collection

The watches in this range are somewhat unusual. They have a rectangular dial, an uncommon look for timepieces made by this watchmaker. And yet, as with models 10671 and 10672, the luxury and Swiss refinement that characterise the talent of Baume & Mercier are immediately apparent. For the Hampton collection, the brand has reworked the concept of the Milanese bracelet, offering it with very tightly woven links in satin-polished steel. The result lives up to the reputation of Baume & Mercier: a wristwatch that hugs the wrist perfectly. A touch retro, the Hampton range will win you over with its Art Deco influences and unconventional geometry.

Iconic Watches

In addition to its extraordinary expertise, Baume & Mercier has designed timepieces to suit every personality. Take the Linea range, dedicated to women and very elegant with its interchangeable strap (in leather or satin). Or the Capeland collection, which features automatic watches with multiple chronograph functions (telemeter, tachymeter and more) and varied designs that will delight fans of vintage or sophisticated sporty style. These refined models will enhance any outfit with their understated style and charisma.
