At the beginning of 2024, TUDOR made a grand return to the world of motorsports by announcing a partnership with the new Formula 1® team Visa Cash App RB. To mark the occasion, TUDOR created an exclusive team-only version of its Black Bay Ceramic, instantly recognizable by its blue dial. Now, you too can wear the same Master Chronometer-certified watch as drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo.
TUDOR has a long-standing presence on the racing circuits. The brand supported winning teams during the golden age of motorsports, notably the TUDOR Watch Racing Team in the late 1960s and, more recently, the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. In 2024, TUDOR returns to the starting grid with Visa Cash App RB, a brand-new Formula 1® team featuring fan-favorite drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda.
Formula 1® is widely regarded as one of the most technologically advanced sports, which explains why the Black Bay Ceramic is worn by the team’s drivers. This model embodies TUDOR’s relentless pursuit of mechanical performance. Tested by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), the Black Bay Ceramic represents horological innovation while reflecting the aesthetic language of high technology. The Master Chronometer certification, issued exclusively by METAS, is among the most demanding standards in watchmaking in terms of chronometry and magnetic resistance. To highlight the extraordinary performance of this model, its matte black ceramic case houses a matching black Manufacture Caliber.
With the public launch of the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue”, in the same configuration as the team’s watch this season—featuring a blue dial reflecting the Visa Cash App RB livery and matching strap stitching—TUDOR writes a new chapter in its horological relationship with motorsport.

INDEPENDENT CERTIFICATION AND HIGH STANDARDS
The METAS Master Chronometer certification is comprehensive, covering key functional attributes such as precision, magnetic resistance, water resistance, and power reserve. Its requirements are exacting, starting with accuracy: a watch must maintain a variation of 0/+5 seconds per day—5 seconds tighter than the COSC standard (–4/+6 seconds) on the movement alone, and 1 second tighter than TUDOR’s internal tolerance for fully assembled Manufacture Caliber models (–2/+4 seconds).
This certification also guarantees correct functioning under magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss, validates the manufacturer-stated water resistance, and confirms the stated power reserve. Additionally, two prerequisites are required before a watch can be certified: Swiss Made compliance and COSC certification of the movement.

MANUFACTURE CALIBER MT5602-1U
The MT5602-1U powering the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” exemplifies TUDOR’s technical development philosophy: an evolving architecture that integrates new functions without additional modules.
Providing hours, minutes, and seconds, it features characteristic sunburst laser-finished bridges with the Master Chronometer engraving. Its skeletonized tungsten rotor displays radial laser decorations combined with sandblasted details, while bridges and plates alternate between polished and sandblasted finishes.
The caliber ensures robustness and precision with a variable-inertia balance held by a solid traversing bridge with double attachment. Certified by COSC and exceeding its standards, the MT5602-1U offers ±2/+4 seconds tolerance on the fully assembled watch, versus the 0/+5 seconds required by METAS for Master Chronometer certification. Magnetic resistance extends to 15,000 gauss, and the 70-hour power reserve allows the watch to be worn over the weekend without rewinding.
TECHNICAL DESIGN
The technical finish of the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” underscores its high performance. The monobloc matte black ceramic case has a sandblasted surface with chamfered lugs for striking contrast. The unidirectional rotating bezel is also black ceramic with sunray satin finish, engraved numerals, and indices.
A hybrid black leather and rubber strap, embossed with a “Snowflake” motif inside, features blue stitching and a black PVD-treated steel deployant clasp. An additional black fabric strap with a central blue stripe complements the sporty aesthetic.

The Black Bay line draws inspiration from TUDOR’s 1950s diving watches and features the iconic angular “Snowflake” hands introduced in 1969. Its crown without guards and case design are typical of early TUDOR diving watches. Combining over 70 years of diving watch heritage with contemporary watchmaking, Black Bay balances neo-vintage aesthetics with modern standards of reliability, robustness, and finishing.
THE TUDOR MANUFACTURE
Every TUDOR watch is assembled and tested at the TUDOR Manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland, completed in 2021. This state-of-the-art facility combines traditional craftsmanship with advanced automated production and certification systems. Connected to the Kenissi Manufacture, founded by TUDOR in 2016, the brand controls high-performance mechanical movement production, ensuring complete quality oversight.
TUDOR WARRANTY
Since its creation by Hans Wilsdorf in 1926, TUDOR has consistently delivered robust, durable, reliable, and precise watches. Confident in their quality, all TUDOR watches now come with a five-year transferable warranty, requiring no registration or intermediate checks. Recommended servicing is approximately every ten years, depending on model and usage.
