BUCCELLATI – A Return to Maastricht in Honor of TEFAF
The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) in Maastricht will open its doors from March 15 to 20, 2025, presenting the very best of art — from antiquities to contemporary works, including paintings, jewelry, sculptures, and furniture.
Founded in 1988, TEFAF has become a benchmark as the world’s leading fair for antiques and design. This year’s edition will feature approximately 260 prestigious exhibitors from around 20 countries, offering visitors the opportunity to explore 7,000 years of unique artworks.
Buccellati’s journey with TEFAF began in 1992, when the Maison recognized the importance of participating in this event to showcase its haute jewelry creations. Over the next two decades, until 2014, Buccellati remained a faithful participant, presenting both high jewelry and silverware pieces that captivated and intrigued the fair’s visitors. Today, after an 11-year hiatus, Buccellati returns to TEFAF with new creations that perfectly embody the Maison’s tradition. To celebrate this return, Buccellati will present a curated selection highlighting the creative genius of Gianmaria Buccellati — the visionary who brought the Maison to this prestigious fair — alongside new collections crafted by Andrea Buccellati, who continues to impart his innovative touch to both jewelry and silverware.
Among these pieces are several haute jewelry creations designed exclusively for the event, such as the Opera High Jewellery bracelet and necklace by Andrea Buccellati. Featuring meticulously crafted tulle-like elements, they highlight the Renaissance-inspired form of the Maison’s iconic floral logo.
Vintage pieces, including diamond-studded brooches from the 1960s and a stunning set of rings, pendant, and brooch with aquamarines from the 1970s, reflect Gianmaria Buccellati’s passion for the jeweler’s art and testify to the Maison’s enduring artisanal tradition.
The world of silverware complements Buccellati’s selection; sumptuous new pieces, such as a poppy-shaped centerpiece, are presented alongside other iconic and highly sought-after objects. Finely crafted using traditional techniques of repoussé and chasing, these works are integral to the Maison’s identity. Buccellati’s refined savoir-faire — combining silver with semi-precious stones, bamboo, ivory, porcelain, and Murano glass — extends seamlessly across all Maison objects.
Nicolas Luchsinger, CEO of the brand, states: “Returning to TEFAF is a great source of pride for Buccellati, and the Richemont Group — which has included Buccellati since 2019 — has supported and promoted this return, affirming confidence in the Maison, its craftsmanship, and its ability to continually amaze, even after many years, with objects imbued with timeless beauty that transcend any notion of place or fleeting trends.”
